Wound Care Instructions

Keep your treatment site dry for the first 24 hours. If you leave with a dressing and/or bandage, please leave it in place as directed and keep it dry and intact.

Aquaphor Healing Ointment should be applied to the treatment site with a clean finger or Q tip after cleansing the area. Aquaphor Healing Ointment is selected by Dr. Taylor, as many patients can develop sensitivities to other products with prolonged use.

If you see any crusting or dried blood on your incision a line(s) take a Q-tip saturated with hydrogen peroxide and roll over the wound site until clean. You do not want a scab to form at the surgical site, which could widen in the scar line. Do not clean with peroxide daily if not needed.

A certain amount of redness and swelling around the incision line is a normal part of the healing process. However, if you have significant pain, swelling, redness, the area is warm to the touch or pus, please contact our office.
